CHIURKO: Peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital, Sunday, September 20, 2009, William "Bill" Chiurko, age 89, of Country Manor Retirement Home, Thedford, formerly of Grand Cove Estates, Grand Bend and Woodstock. Beloved husband of Agnes Lillian (Page) Chiurko of Country Manor. Dear father of Ken and Sandra Chiurko of Bayfield. Loved grandpa of Teresa and Scott Edwards of London, Cyndy Chiurko and Joe Gaudet of Richmond, BC. Loving great-grandpa of Christopher Edwards and companion Morgan, Jody Edwards, Tyler Gaudet and Laura Gaudet. Survived by his brother Michael "Mike" and his wife Marion Ciurka of Winnipeg, MB. Also remembered by his many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his brother John Ciurka and sister Julia Bachinsky and his parents Michael and Mary (Yartym) Ciurka. Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, with visitation commencing at 12 noon on Wednesday, September 23, 2009, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. The Rev. Brad Dunbar officiating. Cremation. Interment will take place at a later time at the Woodstock Anglican Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Arthritis Society or charity of choice would be appreciated. Bill retired from the Oxford Regional Centre as a stationary engineer, served with the O.P.P. in District #7 and the Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry in Winnipeg. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
