MAIER: At South Huron Hospital, Exeter, on Saturday evening, September 26, 2009, after a long struggle with cardiac disease, Howard Herbert Maier , age 79, of Grand Bend, formerly of RR 1, Dashwood. Beloved husband of E. Muriel (Schade) Maier. Loved father of Michael Maier and fiancé Isabelle McLeod of Ottawa, Tom Maier and companion Dr. Kathleen Keil of Canmore, AB. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Edna Rendell, Grace Maier, Marie Grey, Kathleen and Mervyn Mitchell all of London, Millie Fortner of Toronto, Ione Maier of Thamesford, Elgin and Ruth Schade of Walton. Remembered by his many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his sisters Helen Fowler, Hilda Tomlinson, Gladys Mathers, brothers Donald Maier, Carl Maier, Harold Maier (WWII), Gerald Maier and parents Edmund and Maria (Burmeister) Maier. Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood with visitation on Tuesday 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A private family interment service will be held at the Exeter Cemetery, Wednesday morning, followed by a public Memorial Service at the Grand Bend United Church, Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 11 a.m. Rev.
